Introduction

Started as a school project in mid 2024, originally presented as a conscientization project, about how abandoned zones can be turn into something useful for everyone. but without a clear path.

Now with ux and data analysis knowledge, giving it a fresh start.

Understanding the problem

Pain:
Often people have to go through article per article to read about what is going on in nature right now, and often these articles lack information or require an account to continue reading, annoying popups and poorly positioned ads make people just quit reading.

Consequence:
people often quit reading mid article and close the tab.

Need:
A structured and intuitive ordering experience that allows customers to easily place custom orders while providing the business with clear and reliable information.

How might we?

. . . organize the info in a storytelling way, covering any doubts.

. . . Optimal accessibility/styles choices so user can read it in a comfortable way

. . . Find the data and how to credit it

Ideating solutions

Book-like reading

books have mastered the art of reading, a lot, so i found inspiration in these ones, with simple layouts that complements the info aside infographics, font style and choices.

Why:
Guided flows reduce cognitive load and prevent missing details, especially for first-time users.

Accessibility Options

With a tool, you can change font size, style, background, and a few more options to improve an optimal reading for everyone.

Why:
It has to be accessible for everyone, small text can result in difficult reading for some users

Ideating

Major changes in design

Started as a school project, but retaken for me because i wanted to prove my newly ux skills.

1 - Landing page

  • Image: Changed to get a bit more of contrast in text

  • Font change: From being completely "Instrument Sans" to add a second proper font which is "Instrument Serif" for hero section.

  • Info: The info was straight up next to the landing page in the early version, but this has to be changed to each section having their own page, due to the amount of info and aesthetics.

2 - Font change on info

After some iterations by feedback, second option resulted more comfortable to read and more book-feeling

Final design
